After winning Melodifestivalen 2012, Loreen was sent to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Azerbaijan, Baku. There she spent two weeks of preparation for the contest with tight schedule full of rehearsals, interviews, press meetings and related Eurovision events. On 24th of May, she performed in second semi-final of the contest and qualified directly for the final. Two days later, on 26th of May, Loreen won with "Euphoria" the entire competition with a total of 372 points from 40 voting countries out of 42 and became one of the most successful Eurovision winners, with Euphoria reaching #1 in 21 countries.
Performance: The performance was based on Melodifestivalen version from March with minor changes, described in this article. The new stage costume made of hand-painted silk was designed by Martin Bergström. The first version of the stage outfit was later modified after dress rehearsal, removing additional tassels of fabric on the sleeves. The performance was choreographed by Ambra Succi and the concept was inspired by Asian movies Memoirs of a Geisha, Hero and martial arts. "It is important that everything feels genuine. We wanted it stripped down and put all the emphasis on the song", said Ambra.
In addition to the choreography, Ambra Succi has also designed the screenplay for the song and the lights. Together with Loreen danced on the stage American dancer Ausben Jordan. Loreen also performed with 3 back-vocal singers, on 4 x 5 feet custom stage platform built by the German production and with effects of falling snow projected on background screen. The venue for Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Crystal Hall, was many times larger than in Globen, Sweden for Melodifestivalen. The stage was open in every direction, with 25 TV cameras around, instead of only 4 in Globen. The main producer of the performance was Rennie Mirro and artistic director Ambra Succi.
